Coffeepot: the 1st Effective Mobile App for Coffee Shops
NOTE:
“This is the general idea of the iPhone
app for coffee company, but we are here to build and adjust it to your business
needs. ”
Short description of Coffeepot app
Developing of a truly efficient mobile app for small business could be the real headache for its owner, especially if he has never had such experience before. In previous article, I described useful triggers that can be used in a business mobile app. Coffeepot is app idea which absorbed the most useful triggers and could be applied to a coffee shop business development. For coffee people: Coffeepot app allows people to buy coffee from their cell phones, and it also unites the coolest features of the most popular coffee apps. For coffee shop owner: It allows to sell more coffee and retain more customers. Let’s take a look at this case closer.

All you want to know about Coffeepot app project
After brainstorming in the office of IvZ Solutions, I created sketches of the mobile app for coffee shops. Coffeepot is the name for it. The first hypothesis that I used to create the graphic implementation of my idea sounds like that: “Gather the coolest features from top-10 coffee apps”. This hypothesis will be the cause why people will use Coffeepot. Research of strengths and weaknesses of top apps and their users’ feedback brought results. I found 8 problems that users (your clients) face while using these apps. All together this problems influence on important business metrics such as revenue, comfort of service and brand awareness. Here they are:
Problem#1: Clients have to use minimum 10 coffee apps
that cover all their needs.
Problem#2: Clients can't place orders directly from
an app (they can't buy coffee on-the-go).
Problem#3: Clients should have an opportunity to know
the latest news from their favorite coffee shop.
Problem#4: Clients must be informed about all special
offers (hot offers) from their favorite coffee shop.
Problem#5: Clients can't store their discount card
data in an app, and if they forget a card at home then they are not allowed to
use their discount.
Problem#6: Clients can't share information about their
favorite drinks and hot offers from their favorite coffee shop with their social
friends.
Problem#7: Clients (Coffee runners) can't create a list of their friends/colleagues' favorite coffee drinks.
Problem#8: Clients can't find the nearest coffee shop
(if it's small chain).
The solution of problems that I've described above you
will find on the picture below.

In this project I used such triggers as Hot offers, One-Touch-Buy button, Favorites, Social share triggers, Store locator, Basket procrastinators. That star team of triggers came from the best coffee apps and, of course, from trigger-based marketing. Triggers are tools that help you in returning of investments in a mobile app, increasing of your company’s net profit, acceleration of your brand awareness and improving of your customer service. You can read more about triggers in my previous article.

Short stories from Coffeepot users
Let’s divide our main goal – creating of effective business mobile app into eight small goals and try to find fast and effective solutions for them.
Story#1: Users need always to jump between different
apps to use various features.
Coffeepot must have all needed features out of the box
.
Story #2: Users can’t buy coffee on-the-go with their
smartphones or tablets. The result is that they have to stay in waiting lines,
especially in the morning time.
Coffeepot should have feature that allows users to pay
on-the-go with their debit/credit cards and set the time when they will pickup
their drinks. Monetization module is a necessity in this case.

#3, 4 Coffeepot news feed |
Story #3: Users don't know about the latest news from
a coffee shop because their favorite Gmail classifies news letters to a folder
that they rarely open.
Coffeepot should have built-in news feed with push
notifications. Users should be allowed to turn off notifications manually. Coffeepot must also have the indicator that informs users about new & unread news.
Web app admin panel allows coffee shop owner to upload the latest news.

#4 Coffeepot indicator |
Story #4: Users don't know about the hottest offers
and special deals from a coffee shop because their favorite Gmail assorts promo
letters to the folder that they rarely open.
Coffeepot should publish information about hot offers on
the home screen of the app and duplicate it to built-in news feed and push
notifications. Users Should be allowed to turn off notifications manually. Coffeepot
should also use an indicator that informs users about new & unread hot
offers. Web app admin panel allows coffee shop owner to upload information
about hot offers and special deals.
Story #5: Users should always carry a discount card everywhere
they go. If they lost or left a card at home then they wouldn’t get a discount immediately,
when they most need it.
Coffeepot should duplicate a discount card by storing
data inside the app + send data in a cloud. Using of QR codes or bar-codes can solve
the problem of a lost card: cashier can read a bar-code directly from a
smartphone screen. NFC is also welcomed.
Story #6: Users can't share information about their favorite
drinks and hot offers on-the-go with
their social friends. They have to type a small text or make a photo and then
share it.
Coffeepot should allow easy social networks
integration, each news from the feed must be ready for sharing. One social
button - one share.
Story #7: Users should have an opportunity to create
lists of different coffee drinks based on preferences of their friends or/and
colleagues. People should have an opportunity to create that lists in a few
quick touches.
Coffeepot should allow to create and store different
lists + allow to share them with social friends. Basic coffee shop menu
is preinstalled in the app + coffee shop owner could update a menu with new
items from the Coffeepot web app.
Story #8: Users feel uncomfortable with searching of
the nearest favorite coffee shop on-the-go. They must google address and then launch
Google maps to find it.
Coffeepot should have Google maps integrated in the
app and one simple button "Find Shop".
Together we have solved eight problems of your customers and it’s
time to act. We search, we analyze, we solve.

Coffee Shop Owner? - It’s your turn!

Creating of such kind of mobile app project is a big hole in a marketing budget for a small or mid-sized company. The Coffeepot project will cost you more than $50 000. It includes web app, mobile apps for iPhones, iPads, Android phones and Android tablets. We know that price is high for you that is why we (IvZ Solutions) decided to cut the costs. What if you could own the Coffeepot for just 5-7% from the final price. The only way to make that price real is to group in the big like-minded team.
